Instructional Mode Definitions

ASYNCHRONOUS is an online course with no set meeting time.

SYNCHRONOUS is an online course with a set meeting time as indicated on students’ schedules.

CLASS meets fully in-person in a classroom space with reduced social distancing capacity.  For example, a Monday and Thursday class which meets from 10:00 am-11:15 am would meet as a whole class, on both days, for the full time.

HYBRID alternates between meeting in-person and online.  For example, a Monday and Thursday class which meets from 10:00 am-11:15 am would meet in-person as a whole class on Mondays from 10:00 am-11:15 and online as a whole class on Thursdays from 10:00 am-11:15 am.

SPLIT rotates students in groups of in-person and online learners.  For example, a Monday and Thursday class which meets from 10:00 am-11:15 am would have half the class attend in-person on Monday with the other half attend online.  On Thursday, the groups would rotate.
