Academic and Graduation Honors

Undergraduate students may be recognized for a ceremonial honors distinction based on their final cumulative grade point average. Honors distinctions are determined based on all grades as of the end of the fall semester of their senior year, and are notated in the Commencement Program at that point. Honors distinctions are recalculated upon the final semesters’ grades to determine if there is a change in honors. In the event of a change, students will be notified by the Office of the Registrar via email, as well as given the new honors cord. All changes will be read alongside students’ names at the Ceremony, and a new honors certificate will be included with the diploma. Due to tight printing deadlines the commencement program will not reflect the change. Final graduation honors on the academic transcript are reflective of the final grade point average.

The cumulative grade point average is arrived at by dividing the total number of quality grade points earned by the total number of credit hours graded. The College does not round grade point average; the official GPA is truncated to the hundredths digit.
