Academic Regalia

All students participating in the Commencement Ceremony will wear a cap and gown. Students are responsible for ordering their academic regalia between December and March through Herff Jones.

The cap should sit flat on top of your head, with the crown about an inch above your eyebrow. Graduate students will also have an academic hood to be placed over your head, around your neck, draping over shoulders.

Undergraduate students will have the tassel of their caps hang from the front, right-hand side. Once you have graduated, you will move your tassel to the left-hand side.

Graduate students will have the tassel of their caps hang from the front left-hand side throughout the ceremony.

If you have an honors cord, this goes over the gown with the knot at back of neck. The only cords, sashes, or other accessory that is permitted are those issued by the National Honor Societies.
